Today is the first day of school. Lo is growing up... She is in the third grade after all, and that means she gets the bigger playground she's been looking forward to for two years. We met her teacher the other day and she seemed nice. Hopefully she'll be patient and understanding with my very bright and slightly eccentric child. As for the growing up part, things are changing so rapidly that I got out what Lo refers to as "The Book" while making a face that says "The lame embarrassing book"
Here's what's new this year:
Here's what's new this year:
- She planned her own outfit. I convinced her to add the leggings to make being at school in the little dress easier, so that she wouldn't have to remember to sit like a lady.
- Nail polish... baby blue on the toes and pale pink glitter on the fingers, only because her mother wouldn't allow blue on the fingers.
- Her bag isn't a school bag. It's a purse that she chose because she wanted a messenger bag and not a school bag with characters or whatever on it.
Here's what's not new:
- A goofy smile for the camera.
- A kid lunch box complete with a sliced up tomato as part of her meal.
- She didn't want me to do anything special with her hair.
- She was so excited that she started looking out the front door to see if there were kids yet, at 8:20. The bus comes at 8:40.

Aw! She looks adorable - and so grown up!
And that paint job you did on her room? TOTALLY FABULOUS! I especially like the pattern on the floor.
you should be extremely proud of yourself Aimee. Lo is growing up to be a really amazing person - just like her mama! Love you.
